Cameo earrings

These elegant Victorian-inspired cameo earrings are made entirely from sterling silver.
For each earring, the profile of a woman’s head has been cut out by hand from silver which has been etched with a detailed damask-style pattern. The recessed areas of the pattern have been blackened before the raised areas have been gently sanded back to give a shiny silver finish.
The oval-shaped backgrounds also have the same damask pattern etched into the surface. The background has been entirely blackened, but is also slightly shiny, creating a subtle but eye-catching texture.
Both the profile and the background have been domed. The earrings are each suspended from handmade ear wires and will swing as the wearer moves.
The cameo earrings are each approximately 3.7cm (1.5”) in overall length including the ear wire. The panels are each 1.7cm (0.7”) their tallest point and 1.3cm (0.5”) at its widest.
