Damask pendant on sterling silver chain
To create this pendant I etched a decorative damask-type pattern into sterling silver. The silver was then cut out in the shape of a small detail which caught my eye in another damask pattern.
The etched areas of the metal have been left with a matte white silver oxide finish created by a process of repeated heating. The raised surface area has been gently sanded back to give it an eye-catching shiny silver finish.
The pendant is suspended on a delicate sterling silver chain with oval-shaped links which is completed with handmade sterling silver findings.
The necklace is 45cm long, while the pendant is approximately 3.5cm (1.4”) at its widest point and 2.7cm (1”) at its longest.
