This ring has as its focus a sterling silver poppy with a 14ct gold centre. The poppy sits on top of a hammer-beaten sterling silver band.
To create the poppy I start with circles of both sterling silver and 14ct gold. The circles are then beaten with a variety of hammers to build up an organic texture on the metal and to make the edges uneven. The circles are finally domed and then placed on a handmade sterling silver headpin, before being soldered to the ring band.
The poppy has been tumbled to create a sparkly finish.
The ring band is made from sterling silver wire which has been beaten with a highly polished smithing hammer, creating a slightly facetted look and square-ish shape on the outside of the ring, but leaving a slightly curved interior.
This design assists me to recycle the leftover sterling silver from making other jewellery. This helps to ensure that only small scrap pieces are sent for refining, reducing the environmental impact.
Finger sizes vary from one person to the next, so please check your ring size if you are unsure of what it is. I have a re-useable ring sizer available which will give you an accurate size.
You can make a selection from four different sizes (see below). If the size you need is not listed, please choose one of the available sizes, but leave a note when you checkout to indicate the size you'd like to have made instead.
You can use either US (numerical) or UK/Australian (alphabetical) sizing to let me know your size. View a conversion chart.
Please note that rings are generally made to order, although I do try to keep some already made.
If your size is not in stock, please allow up to 5 days for me to create an item which is made to order. If your order is urgent, please let me know when you checkout and I will do my best to get it made as quickly as possible.
