Damask pendant on black silk
To create this pendant I etched a decorative damask-type pattern into sterling silver. The silver was then cut out in the shape of a small detail which caught my eye in another damask pattern.
The etched areas of the metal have been left with a matte white silver oxide finish created by a process of repeated heating. The raised surface area has been gently sanded back to give it an eye-catching shiny silver finish.
The pendant is suspended on black natural silk thread which is finished with handmade sterling silver findings.
The necklace is 45cm long, while the pendant is approximately 3.5cm (1.4”) at its widest point and 2.7cm (1”) at its longest.
I can generally change the length and the colour of the silk thread if required – either contact me or you can include a note when you checkout.
The natural silk is designed for use in jewellery making. It can be handwashed and even ironed if required.
Also see the earrings in this range, along with a version of the pendant which is suspended on a delicate sterling silver chain.
Note that my jewellery is all individually handmade. The item you purchase may differ slightly from the one photographed. This is part of the beauty of handmade work – no two pieces are ever identical.
