I think that all handmade chains are very special. Most chains are made in factories by machines, whereas handmade chains are very labour-intensive, with each individual link having been worked on carefully by the maker and left with its own character.
Each loop of silver is formed from wire, cut, linked to other loops and then soldered closed. Finally each link is lovingly hammered to give it a beautiful hammer-beaten finish which catches the light. The whole chain is then tumbled for a number of hours to give it a bright and sparkly finish.
This beautifully sparkly chain features a single 14ct gold link at its end with four hand cut faceted ametrine gemstone beads and one amethyst. The ametrine varies in colour from yellow to purple. The gemstones are suspended from handmade 14ct gold headpins.
The chain has a really lovely feel to it and it can be worn in different ways. The handmade catch can clasp the chain at any point, meaning you can wear it at its full length or clasp it higher up to leave a trailing strand of loops, which can be worn hanging down at either the front or the back.
It could even be wrapped around your wrist twice and clasped at the right point to be worn as a bracelet.
The chain is perfect to dress up casual clothes or can just as easily be worn for more dressy occasions.
The chain is approximately 46cm (18") in length, but as it can be clasped at any point you can wear it at shorter lengths.
